Language and Reading Research in Yorkshire
About
Welcome to the Language and Reading Research in Yorkshire (LARRY) website.
LARRY is an interdisciplinary research group whose members share an interest in language and reading development. LARRY members work in universities across the Yorkshire region and collaborate with academics and practitioners both nationally and internationally. Our members investigate language and reading development in typically developing populations, explore the causes and consequences of language and reading difficulties, and seek to identify effective means of supporting children to develop their language and literacy skills.
A central aim of LARRY is to forge strong links with practitioners working to support children’s language and literacy skills. We are building a network of early years practitioners, primary and secondary school teachers, speech and language therapists and other professionals. On this website you will find links to our members pages, information about current projects and links to useful resources. You will also find accessible summaries of research relating to our work. Please take some time to explore our website and get in touch with our members to find out more about our current projects.
